FAQ

• UV Stabilised
Weed Gunnel has been full UV stabilised and will last for up to 3-4 years, or if covered with a thin layer of mulch or river sand, etc, will last for6-8 years.

• Toxins
Weed Gunnel has been tested by the QLD University of Physical Sciences and reports the product releases no harmful toxins or heavy metals in the breakdown.

• Rain
Weed Gunnel allows for efficient use of natural rain water, by allowing seepage of rain through the matting.

• Light
Weed Gunnel works by blocking out 96% of the UV light . If seed does germinate photo synthesis cannot take place, stopping weed growth.

• Light Weight
Weed Gunnel is lightweight and easy to cut (will not frey).

• Evaporation - space needed between valuable and water
Weed Gunnel reduces evaporation of moisture from the soil, allowing valuable water to be retained. The fabric itself does not hold moisture so you do not have the problem of fungal growth or collar rot.

• Fertilising
Weed Gunnel allows any slow release and liquid fertiliser to pass through to your soil. All nutrients from the breakdown of any mulch placed around the plants will still penetrate and pass through to the soil.

• Hydrophilic
Weed Gunnel's hydrophilic treatment also allows most organic mulch to adhere to the mat. This makes Weed Gunnel an ideal choice of weed control on steep land. This also helps to reduce erosion and establish vegetaion.

• Spec's
Weed Gunnel is 100% polypropylene non woven fabric. Black in colour, 50 gsm, UV and hydrophilic treated, to suit the Australian conditions

• Pre-Cut
Weed Gunnel is available pre-cut to easily slip around the base of existing trees etc, or by the meter. Weed Gunnel will not fray when cut.

• ReUsed
Weed Gunnel is available in standard small pot sizes. Pot gunnels can be washed and disinfected and used again year after year.
